The Fall Season shows have not started, reruns are boring and it is making it really difficult to blog.Thankfully my other half - and by that I mean my boyfriend, not the voices in my head, has saved the day.
He has turned me onto a show that is long off the air but I never caught on television the first time around. When he makes suggestions, I go into the conversation with necessary caution. I am never quite sure what I am getting. I once got roped into watching a two hour documentary about people who lived in the wild with wolves. Then there was a time I watched a show about the guys who clean the rust off bridges. Almost jumped off a bridge myself during those few hours.
Thankfully, the current television suggestion was spot on and he picked a show that I am slowly falling in love with. The name of the show is JAG. JAG is the American Military acronym for Judge Advocate General. The show is an adventure/legal drama. With a gorgeous lead (you soooo knew that was coming) named Harmon Rabb, a former Navy pilot turned JAG lawyer, him and his team investigate crimes committed by Military personnel.
Explosions, guns, romance, laughter, good looking people on great adventures and wonderful mysteries that need to be solved, this is a show for both men and women. Once I get hooked on a show it is important for me to do the necessary research. I was amazed to learn that JAG ran for over ten seasons! The first season appeared on one network and was then cancelled. For the second season and beyond it was picked up by another station and slightly altered to make it more appealing to the masses. I am currently up to Season 3 and we are finally learning more about each character and the main storyline is getting deeper.
Something about the first Season intrigues me very much. It was raw and quirky and the chemistry between the leads was palpable. I loved the easy flirtation that was relevant in every episode. Once it switched networks it became more formal and rigid but obviously that worked since it stayed on air for the next ten years. If it was up to me, I would have left the show as it was filmed in Season 1, but then again I am not a Network Exec, so what do I know?
As mentioned, the lead male actor, David Jame Elliot, is gorgeous and I had to scout around to get more information him. To my own amusement I realized that he played a moving man in a well known episode of Seinfeld and never would I have guessed it was the same guy.
