Shows with female leads take me a while to process because without the eye candy to distract me I have to figure out why I am watching this show. Is the story line interesting enough to keep me entertained without something pretty to look at?So far this show is doing a pretty good job. There have been many real life nurses who are outraged that RNs are being portrayed in such light. I think they need to take a chill pill because this is one particular nurse and her crazy life. The show is intended to be a dark comedy not a generalization of all nurses and the way they act.
Nurse Jackie continues to live a double life, sleeping with one doctor to continue her drug habit and dealing with her own family drama. Her daughter seems to be going through an anxiety issue of sorts in being obsessed with sad and morbid things. Even drawing all of her pictures without color and for a ten year old to draw a picture of Florida with absolutely no sun had the guidance counselor calling with needs for concern. I felt for the little girl because she definitely has issues and Jackie doesn't want to think her own child may be lacking something.
The staff in the ER is quite a funny bunch and the wacky young wet behind the ears nurse in training has me constantly laughing. She is so odd yet naive and eager you can't help but root for her. I can't imagine what she will turn into with Jackie as her mentor.
