Don't Spy & Drive

I was sad to learn that Jeffrey Donovan was arrested for driving under the influence last week. According to published reports some quotes that were taken during the incident involved him saying "Sorry, I didn't see the red light or your stopped car." and "The only mistake I made tonight was drinking Benadryl with 3 glasses of wine." Donovan flunked a field sobriety test and was taken into custody. He was later charged with one count of DUI. If convicted he could get 6 months in the slammer, but given that he's a first offender it's unlikely that he'll do any time.

It is sometimes hard for me to distinguish the man from the actor that I love so dearly. I may be in love with Michael Westen on the screen but I must remember that there is a real person out there unlike the character that he plays on TV. I can only hope that this is a one time unfortunate incident and I am glad that no one was hurt. After seeing many interviews from Jeffrey Donovan he seems like a stand up guy who has done his best to stay out of the spotlight even while being the lead on a high rated TV show. I imagine he is ashamed and disappointed in his own actions and I hope we only hear good press on him in the future.
