Ban The Man Code

Every reality show has a host that can make or break the success of the show. Survivor has Jeff Probst, American Idol has Ryan Seacrest and The Bachelor/Bachelorette has Chris Harrison. On last nights episode of The Bachelorette: The Men Tell All, Chris Harrison really rocked. I wanted to stand up and cheer when he bluntly told the guys that many of them were acting like idiot frat boys with little respect for women. It is quite obvious why many of these men are still single.

For the first time we got to see the guys who were kicked off the show, minus Wes and Reid. Wes was a no show for obvious reasons and we are told that Reid had a prior engagement. (hint hint perhaps?)

In an open forum the men discuss what went down while filming the show. I was shocked at how candid they were and even more surprised at how much I disliked many of them. I wish we had seen this side of the guys when first introduced to them. It would have been a lot easier to weed out the morons from the men with honorable intentions.

Dave sounded like a belligerent meat head stating that "man code" (whatever the hell THAT is) should have stopped any of the guys from ratting out Wes and his hidden intentions. He said that men should stick up for each other no matter what because the "man code" comes first. Dave and Sasha then continued to pick on Jake and Juan for not following the "man code". Thankfully Chris Harrison said exactly what I was thinking when he stated "why the HELL do Jake and Juan have to do anything to prove that they are one of the guys when the point of the show was to date Jillian, not become life long buddies among the guys." The only thing Dave had going for him was when he apologized to Jillian for acting so inappropriate on their date and his apology sounded truly sincere, shockingly enough.

Jake continued his "perfect" persona but proved that he has an inner bad boy when he told Sasha "Fuck You, how's that for perfect", when Sasha continued to berate him and his kindness. Well said Jake! Woot! Woot! If an F-Bomb is going to be dropped on TV I am glad it came from you. Sometimes the word Fuck can really accentuate the intensity of a sentence. I tend to use it frequently myself.

Sascha was blatantly bitter that he was cut from the show so early on and figured he would get his 15 seconds of fame by being an ass to Jake. Not wise to mess with one of America's fave guys Sasha! As for Jesse, one of my faves during the show, actually proved that he is more jerk then gentlemen when he agreed with the man code.

Surprisingly Michael, one of the youngest bachelors, showed his exceptional maturity and class when he proclaimed that the experience on The Bachelorette made him wiser about life and love and he would be forever grateful for meeting Jillian and being on the show. If Jake is not down for being the next Bachelor then Mike would certainly be an awesome second pick.

One gripe I do have is that if I am watching the Men Tell All then obviously I have been watching all season long and I know what happened. Please just role the tape instead of constantly showing "last time on The Bachelorette" and "coming up in 10 minutes on this episode of The Bachelorette." Over twenty minutes were duplicated scenes. We did get to see a hilarious montage of never before seen bloopers and it had me hooting with laughter. We need more of this action on TV then the forced deep conversations that ABC tries to manufacture between the couples.

Next week is the last episode and the preview shows us that Reid does return in some capacity but we are not sure why. My final prediction is that Jillian picks Ed, but I wish she would pick Kiptyn. On the men tell all episode they showed a clip that was not previously seen. It showed Kiptyn taking Jillian to see the charity that he works very close with. The woman interviewed got choked up when talking about all the work Kiptyn has done for them. It showed me what an all around good guy he is. It also proved that by leaving this clip out of the original airing ABC is purposely editing each guy to look a certain way. Kiptyn was obviously edited to appear as though he only had his looks going for him when that is very far from the truth.

As much as I am dying to know who Jillian ends up with, Kiptyn or Ed, I am sad to see this Season end. They have all become part of my life and I have looked forward to seeing them in my living room each and every week.
